Tonight we move our daughter to her casket in preparation for tomorrow's cremation. The casket was handmade with great care by a craftsman in Utrecht, who wrote in response to our e-mail:
I want to wish you strength in dealing with the loss of Meghan. I can assure you that the casket was indeed made with a great deal of love and care. And I am honored that you've chosen this casket for something so important.
Yesterday and today we painted the casket to really make it hers.

What a warm and loving way to deal with this loss. Wish all of you all the best.
Dear Grayson
I wrote to you some months back: my niece has gliomatosis cerebri, like Meghan had. I said then that my thoughts were with you and I have followed your blog since then. I wanted to say you remain in my thoughts and I wish you well at this time. Meghan's casket is lovely; what a wonderful idea and such a moving expression of your love for her.
Remain strong.
Such a beautiful casket!!!!!!!!!
Now that is a lovely looking casket! Somehow 'lovely looking' and 'casket' can't/shouldn't be in the same sentence though. I wish you, Marco and the kids all the strength for this (no doubt) very difficult day, today.
You are all on our minds and in our hearts
just beautifull!!!
